The Minister of Culture appointed a new Director of the Theatre Institute
The Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic, Martina Šimkovičová, in accordance with Section 3(9), Section 4, and Section 5(9) of Act No. 552/2003 Coll. on the performance of work in the public interest, appointed Mgr. Dária Fojtíková Fehérová, PhD., as the statutory representative and Director of the Theatre Institute as of 1 May 2026. The temporary appointment is valid for a maximum of six months. The current Director of the Theatre Institute, Mgr. art. Alžbeta Vakulová, PhD., resigned from her position at her own request.

Mgr. Dária Fojtíková Fehérová, PhD. (1984)
Completed the study of theatre science at the University of Performing Arts in Bratislava, a complementary pedagogical study focused on creative drama for children, and postgraduate studies at the Department of Aesthetics of the Philosophical Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava. She is a theatre critic and historian, actively participates in domestic and foreign professional events, conferences, and festivals. She focuses on contemporary Slovak drama and new tendencies in staging. As a historian, she studies Slovak theatre directors. She works at the Theatre Institute Bratislava as the head of the Theatre Research Center. She is also the director of Nová dráma/New Drama Festival. She regularly publishes for theatre magazines and scientific journals and is the author or co-author of theatre anthologies. She is the Vice-President of the Slovak Section of AICT/IATC.
