Dária Fojtíková Fehérová Appointed Director of the Nová dráma/New Drama Festival

Mgr. Dária Fojtíková Fehérová, PhD., a theatre critic and researcher, has become the director of the Nová dráma/New Drama Festival. She studied Theatre Studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (VŠMU), completed supplementary pedagogical studies focused on children’s dramatic creativity, and pursued postgraduate studies at the Department of Aesthetics, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University.

She has long been involved in theatre criticism, research on contemporary Slovak theatre, and the history of Slovak directing. Since 2022, she has led the Theatre Research Centre at the Theatre Institute, and since 2009, she has collaborated in preparing the Nová dráma/New Drama Festival. She is Vice-Chair of the Slovak section of the International Association of Theatre Critics and a member of its worldwide committee.

“The Nová dráma / New Drama Festival aims to continue being a professional platform addressing contemporary trends not only in theatre but also in society. I believe that the 22nd edition of the festival will provide a space for developing collaborations and lively interactions between audiences and the theatre community,” says the festival’s new director.
