The Centre for Presentation and Education is headed by a manager who is appointed and removed from office by the Director of the Theatre Institute.
The following activities are defined for the Centre for Presentation and Education:
It presents and promotes all centres and activities of the Theatre Institute, and ensures its own operation in cooperation with the head managers of the Theatre Institute’s centres and the Office of the Director of the Theatre Institute.
The Centre for Presentation and Education maintains operation of the Studio 12, the Nová dráma/New Drama festival, the DRÁMA and Dramaticky mladí playwriting competitions, and oversees the nationwide events as The Theatre Night, the Biennial of Theatre Photography, and the Prague Quadrennial. It implements the Theatre Institute’s exhibition activities, which document significant and commemorative events, and the anniversaries of prominent figures in the field of Slovak professional theatre. It coordinates principal domestic and international projects, as well as co-production projects funded by the EU grants. It focuses on putting research projects into practice (in schools and professional area), and supporting new forms of presentation, professional educational activities, and projects conducted in collaboration with renowned internal as well as external lecturers both at home and abroad. It collaborates with other Theatre Institute’s centres on preparing the institution’s events and presentations of Slovak theatre. It ensures communication and cooperation with state, subsidised, and independent theatres; with organisers of theatre events, festivals, and conferences; with theatre associations and professional organizations active in the field of theatre; as well as with Slovak institutes abroad and foreign cultural institutes operating in Slovakia.
It communicates with the media and prepares the Theatre Institute’s press releases. It also manages the institution’s website and social media accounts.
The Centre for Presentation provides information regarding Slovak theatre and theatre abroad, when requested, including consulting services, and prepares analytical materials in the field of cultural policy.
